Here is your Weekly ONI Update.
The Palm Springs Fire Department invites you to the 15th Anniversary 9/11 Ceremony at Fire Station 442 located at 300 N. El Cielo on Sunday, Sept. 11. The ceremony, conducted by the Palm Springs Fire Department Honor Guard, will take place at 5:46 a.m. in front of the Fire Department’s much celebrated 9/11 Memorial. President Barack Obama has ordered a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. EST or 5:46 a.m. our time. Flags will be lowered at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on 9/11. Coffee and donuts will be available -- and immediately following the moment of the silence, the department will show a 35-minute video. Everyone is invited to attend!
On Monday, Sept. 12, City Manager David Ready and a panel of staff and stakeholders will begin candidate interviews to replace Lee Bonno, our former Director of Neighborhoods and Community Relations. We’ll let you know just as soon as a new replacement is hired.
The Historic Site Preservation Board Meeting will meet Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 9 a.m. See link below to agenda.

The Planning Commission and Architectural Advisory Committee will hold a joint meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 11:30 a.m. See link below to agenda.

Just a reminder, the next City Council meeting is slated for Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. If you can’t make it to the Council Chamber, you can watch it live on Palm Springs Community Television Channel 17 or online at www.palmspringsca.gov.
The City of Palm Springs is committed to gun safety. With that in mind, the Palm Springs Police Department would like to invite residents to attend a special Firearms Safety Course on Oct. 15 & 16 and Oct. 22 at the Police Training Center, 200 S. Civic Drive. The course fee is $160 and includes comprehensive 14 hours of classroom instruction, demonstration and materials dealing primarily with handguns.
